Smecta, powder in sachets, orange-vanilla flavor, 3 g, 30

Smecta is a medicinal product for use in the treatment of acute diarrhea in children, infants, adults and chronic functional diarrhea in adults.
Orange-vanilla flavor.
The active substance is: diosmectite (aluminum silicate) (Diosmectite).
Excipients: glucose monohydrate, sodium saccharin, orange flavor *, vanilla flavor **
* Orange flavor: maltodextrin, sucrose, acacia [E 414], mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids esterified with mono- and diacetyl tartaric acid [E 472e], silicon dioxide [E 551], orange flavor.
** Vanilla flavor: maltodextrin, sucrose, glycerin triacetate [E 1518], silicon dioxide [E 551], ethyl alcohol, soy lecithin [E 322], vanilla flavor.
Dosage
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.
A drug for oral use in the form of a suspension.
Infants and children (acute diarrhea):
children under 1 year of age: 3 g (1 sachet) a day,
children over 1 year of age: 6 g (2 sachets) a day,
the dose may be doubled at the beginning of treatment of acute diarrhea,
method of preparation: dissolve the contents of the sachet in 50 ml of water and serve in small portions throughout the day. Smecta can also be mixed with semi-liquid foods (broth, purees, boiled fruit, ready-made baby meals).
Adults (acute diarrhea):
the daily dose is 9 g (3 sachets),
at the beginning of treatment in acute diarrhea, the dose may be doubled,
way of preparation: dissolve the contents of the sachet in half a glass of water.
Adults (chronic functional diarrhea):
the daily dose is 9 g, i.e. 3 sachets,
way of preparation: as above.
Action
Thanks to its structure and high viscosity, Smecta strongly coats the mucosa of the gastrointestinal tract, which strengthens the protective barrier against e.g. pathogens and irritants. The diosmectite additionally adsorbs intestinal gases, endotoxins, bacteria and viruses; restores the proper permeability of the mucosa.

Dawkowanie
Ten lek należy zawsze stosować dokładnie tak, jak opisano to w ulotce dla pacjenta lub według zaleceń lekarza lub farmaceuty.
Lek do stosowania doustnego w postaci zawiesiny.
Niemowlęta i dzieci (biegunka ostra):
dzieci poniżej 1 roku życia: 3 g (1 saszetka) na dobę,
dzieci powyżej 1 roku życia: 6 g (2 saszetki) na dobę,
na początku leczenia ostrej biegunki dawka może być podwojona,
sposób przygotowania: zawartość saszetki rozpuścić w 50 ml wody i podawać małymi porcjami w ciągu dnia. Smectę może również wymieszać z pokarmami półpłynnymi (bulion, przeciery, gotowane owoce, gotowymi daniami dla dzieci).
Dorośli (biegunka ostra):
dawka dobowa to 9 g (3 saszetki),
na początku leczenia w ostrej biegunce, dawka może być podwojona,
sposób przygotowania: zawartość saszetki rozpuścić w połowie szklanki wody.
Dorośli (przewlekła biegunka czynnościowa):
dawka dobowa to 9 g, czyli 3 saszetki,
sposób przygotowania: jak wyżej.
Działanie
Smecta poprzez swoje strukturę i dużą lepkość powleka silnie błonę śluzową przewodu pokarmowego, co wzmacnia barierę ochronną przed m.in. patogenami i czynnikami drażniącymi. Diosmektyt dodatkowo adsorbuje gazy jelitowe, endotoksyny, bakterie i wirusy; przywraca właściwą przepuszczalność błony śluzowej.
