It acts in the large intestine, where it supports the peristalsis (movement) of the large intestine and the retention of water and electrolytes (ions) in the large intestine. This stimulates defecation and softens the stool. Dulcolax is used for short-term treatment of constipation without consulting a doctor.
Dosage
For constipation: Adults and children over 10 years 1-2 tablets (5-10 mg), children 4-10 years 1 tablet (5 mg). The tablets should be taken in the evening so that they are emptied the following morning. They are swallowed whole with an adequate amount of fluid (except milk).
In preparation for diagnostic procedures and preoperatively: To achieve complete bowel emptying, a dose of 2-4 tablets of DULCOLAX is recommended in adults in the evening before the examination, followed by administration of a laxative with immediate effect in the morning before the examination. In children, one tablet is recommended in the evening and the next morning the immediate laxative is given.
Contraindication
DULCOLAX tablets must not be taken with products that reduce the acidity in the upper gastrointestinal tract, such as milk. Therefore, do not drink the tablets with milk.
Dávkování
Při zácpě: Dospělí a děti nad 10 let 1–2 tablety (5–10 mg), děti 4–10 let 1 tableta (5 mg). Tablety je třeba užít večer tak, aby následující ráno došlo k vyprázdnění. Polykají se celé s přiměřeným množstvím tekutiny (kromě mléka).
Při přípravě k diagnostickým výkonům a předoperačně: K dosažení úplného vyprázdnění střeva se doporučuje u dospělých večer před vyšetřením dávka 2–4 tablety DULCOLAX, následované podáním projímadla s okamžitým účinkem ráno před vyšetřením. U dětí se doporučuje jedna tableta večer a následující ráno podání projímadla s okamžitým účinkem.
Kontraindikace
Tablety DULCOLAX se nesmí užívat spolu s výrobky snižujícími kyselost v horní části zažívacího ústrojí, jako je mléko. Proto tablety nezapíjejte mlékem.
