Tragen Sie nach dem Einreiben möglichst lockere Kleidung um das Einatmen der Dämpfe zu erleichtern. Die Anwendung von WICK VapoRub Erkältungssalbe (Packungsgröße: 100 g) empfiehlt sich besonders vor dem Schlafengehen, da die ätherischen Öle über mehrere Stunden freigesetzt werden. Erhitzen (nicht kochen) Sie anschließend ½ Liter Wasser und geben Sie diesen vorsichtig in die Schale. Erhitzen Sie das Wasser bitte nicht in der Mikrowelle! Halten Sie nun Ihren Kopf für ca. 10-15 Minuten über die Dämpfe und atmen Sie tief ein. Legen Sie evtl. ein Handtuch über Ihren Kopf um die Dämpfe nicht zu schnell entweichen zu lassen.
