V to leto jsem tancoval s motylmi, I danced with butterflies that summer, Ruzena Scherhauferova

Seventeen-year-old high school student Teo, living only with his mother, spends summer holidays with his grandparents in a mountain village. Since childhood, he feels lonely, unbalanced, longs for love and meets an older woman, Esther, who has a four-year-old child – Charlotte. Esther is not indifferent to Te. They meet behind the village by the river Bystrina and spend all their time together. Teo starts photographing and painting Ester. He meets the Wanderer, a strange lonely man who also paints, and Teo firmly decides to become a painter. At the end of the holidays, something happens and Teo returns to town sad and disappointed. He rejects his mother’s suggestion that he later study economics abroad. He will finally fulfill his dream of becoming a painter. He meets Horalka, who is older than him. He realizes that he is not only looking for a girlfriend and mistress in his partners, but also a mother. With Horalka, they overcome a long, painful journey, after years he gets closer to the old man, and finally finds the roots of his childhood. He tries to find Ester’s already grown daughter, Charlotte, to help her. He believes that family is the foundation of happiness in life. The romantic story I danced with butterflies this summer is all about finding and finding meaning in life, love in the family, its essence and cohesion.

Sedemnastrocny gymnazista Teo, zijuci len s matkou, travi letne prazdniny u starych rodicov v podhorskej dedinke. Od detstva sa citi osamely, nevyrovnany, tuzi po laske a zoznami sa so starsou zenou Ester, ktora ma stvorrocne dieta – Sarlotku. Teovi nie je Ester lahostajna. Schadzaju sa za dedinou pri rieke Bystrina a travia spolu vsetok cas. Teo zacne Ester fotografovat a malovat. Stretava Tulaka, zvlastneho osameleho muza, ktory tiez maluje a Teo sa pevne rozhodne, ze sa stane maliarom. Na konci prazdnin sa nieco stane a Teo sa vracia do mesta smutny a sklamany. Odmieta navrh matky, aby neskor studoval v zahranici ekonomiu. Svoj sen, stat sa maliarom, si napokon splni. Spoznava Horalku, ktora je od neho starsia. Uvedomuje si, ze v partnerkach nehlada len priatelku a milenku, ale aj matku. S Horalkou prekonaju dlhu strastiplnu cestu, po rokoch sa zblizi so starkym, a konecne nachadza korene svojho detstva. Snazi sa pohladat uz dospelu dceru Ester, Sarlotu, aby jej pomohol. Je presvedceny, ze rodina je zakladom stastia v zivote.
