But some strange coincidence causes people to perceive the thing a little differently; like something mysterious, supernatural. Something will come to mind, things from another event will be added. Often even a small thing is exaggerated. And suddenly you have a mysterious, mysterious story. So I take all such stories with a grain of salt. “

„Tezko rict,“ ozval se pan Tomasek. „Mozna i sama touha po zazraku je takovym malym zazrakem. Pokud se neco takoveho v lidske dusi opravdu probudi, pak to ukazuje na neco vaznejsiho, zasadnejsiho. A mozna to vypovida neco i o samotnem cloveku.“

„Kazda vec ma svuj smysl,“ ozval se tichym hlasem pan Tomasek a v ocich mu zazarilo. „Kazda udalost ma svuj vnitrni, skryty vyznam. V dobe, kdy dana udalost probiha, si ten vyznam casto ani neuvedomujeme, protoze jsme pohlceni tokem casu, silou te chvile. A vetsinou az mnohem pozdeji pochopime, co nam to vlastne dalo. Kazdy, i treba sebemensi zazitek ma svuj vyznam; je soucasti onoho obrovskeho soukoli naseho zivota. Prave bez nej by ta ostatni kolecka nemohla behat. Casto prave na ta mala kolecka navazuji kola mnohem vetsi, nekdy dokonce ta nejdulezitejsi. Kazdy moment naseho zivota ma proto v sobe svuj vnitrni smysl, ale take sve poslani. Na tom svem zazitku jsem vam chtel jenom ukazat, jak takove pribehy casto vznikaji. Vetsinou je na zacatku neco zcela normalniho, prirozeneho. Jen­ze nejaka podivna nahoda zpusobi, ze tu danou vec lide zacnou vnimat ponekud jinak; jako neco zahadneho, nadprirozeneho. K tomu se neco primysli, pridaji se veci z nejake jine udalosti. Casto i naprosta malickost se zvelici. A najednou se stane, ze z toho mate nejaky zahadny, tajuplny pribeh. Takze ja vsechny takove pribehy beru spise s rezervou.“
