Often a miraculous coincidence such as the “narrow ray of the sun” decided the lives of many British Royal Air Force pilots, in whose ranks against the barbarity of German Nazism fought for the freedom of their occupied homeland alongside the British, Poles, Norwegians, Canadians or Australians and New Zealanders and hundreds of Czechoslovak pilots. Often, unbelievable stories about their rescue from burning planes, from sea waves or on the run from captivity are still worth paying attention to because their ungrateful homeland treated them after the communist regime after February 1948.
