Kniha o horolezeckych tragediich je smutna. Ukazuje obnazene, neuspesne aktery, se kterymi se nikdo nechce ztotoznit. Muzeme je jen sobecky litovat, pricemz si sami neuvedomujeme skutecnost, ze horolezecky pad je totozny s individualnim padem nekde na rovine, pripadne na jinem miste. Nejsme silni jen tim, jakeho uspechu dosahneme, ale i tim, jakym zpusobem dokazeme prekonat neuspech ci porazku.
