Dulcolax is a bisacodyl-based tablet drug.

Therapeutic indications
Dulcolax Tablets are used in the short-term treatment of occasional constipation.

Dulcolax is a medicine that contains bisacodyl and belongs to a group of medicines called contact laxatives. In fact, Dulcolax Tablets is a laxative product that works by stimulating bowel movements and accelerating the passage of bowel contents.

Dosage and Posology
The drug should be taken according to the following doses and methods:

Adults: 1-2 coated tablets per day
Children over 10 years: 1-2 coated tablets per day.
Children aged 2-10 years: 1 coated tablet per day
It is advisable to start with the minimum required dose. The dose can then be increased up to the maximum recommended dose for regular stool evacuation. The maximum daily dose must never be exceeded.

Take the coated tablets preferably in the evening to evacuate the following morning (after about 10 hours). With administration in the morning, on an empty stomach, the effect is obtained after about five hours. The coated tablets should not be administered together with products that reduce the acidity of the upper gastrointestinal tract, such as milk, antacids (for example bicarbonate) or proton pump inhibitors. The coated tablets should be swallowed whole. Swallow with an adequate amount of water (a large glass). A diet rich in liquids favors the effect of the medicine.

Dulcolax in children
In children 2 to 10 years of age Dulcolax tablets can only be used after consultation with your doctor and should not be used in children under two years of age.

Dulcolax è un farmaco che contiene bisacodile ed appartiene ad un gruppo di medicinali chiamati lassativi di contatto. Dulcolax Compresse infatti è un prodotto lassativo che agisce stimolando i movimenti dell’intestino e accelerando il passaggio del contenuto dell’intestino.

Dosaggio e Posologia
Il farmaco va assunto secondo le seguenti dosi e modalità:

Adulti: 1-2 compresse rivestite al giorno
Bambini oltre i 10 anni: 1-2 compresse rivestite al giorno.
Bambini di età compresa fra 2 e 10 anni: 1 compressa rivestita al giorno
E’ consigliabile iniziare con la dose minima prevista. La dose può essere poi aumentata, fino alla dose massima raccomandata, per una regolare evacuazione delle feci. La dose massima giornaliera non deve essere mai superata.

Assumere le compresse rivestite preferibilmente la sera per determinare un’evacuazione la mattina seguente (dopo circa 10 ore). Con la somministrazione al mattino, a digiuno, l’effetto si ottiene dopo cinque ore circa. Le compresse rivestite non devono essere somministrate insieme a prodotti che riducono l’acidità del tratto gastrointestinale superiore, quali latte, antiacidi (per esempio bicarbonato) o inibitori della pompa protonica. Le compresse rivestite vanno deglutite intere. Ingerire insieme ad una adeguata quantità di acqua (un bicchiere abbondante). Una dieta ricca di liquidi favorisce l’effetto del medicinale.

Dulcolax nei bambini
Nei bambini di età compresa fra 2 e 10 anni Dulcolax compresse può essere usato solo dopo aver consultato il medico e non deve essere usato nei bambini di età inferiore a due anni.
