In a detective story from Florida, “emergency adviser” Travis McGee, a quirky amateur detective, and his friend Meyer, at night, accidentally witness an assassination attempt on a girl who is thrown by her killers into the river. By rescuing her, they will be traced to organized prostitution and a chain of murders of selected clients, wealthy and lonely middle-aged men.
