Convafort is a drug that strengthens the force of heart muscle contraction (has a positive inotropic effect), thanks to the content of lily of the valley cardenolide glycosides. The medicinal product is traditionally used as an adjunct in the initial period of impaired cardiac performance, not requiring the use of other medications, without symptoms of circulatory stasis, and in the weakening of the heart muscle in elderly people.
Active substance: dry extract of the lily of the valley herb.
1 coated tablet contains 15.7 mg of dry extract of lily of the valley (Convallariae herbae extractum siccum) DER 10-11: 1, ethanol extract 60% v / v.
Excipients: sucrose, lactose monohydrate, potato starch, talc, magnesium stearate.
Coating: sucrose, talc, cellulose acetate phthalate, gum arabic, virgin castor oil.
Dosage

The drug is administered orally. Dosage in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age is 1 to 2 coated tablets 3 times a day, 15 minutes before a meal.
In combination therapy with strophanthin, the preparation may be administered at intervals of 9 hours before and 8 hours after the injection of strophanthin.

The activity of Convafort is related to the presence of cardenolide glycosides in the lily of the valley extract, which increase the force of heart muscle contraction (they have a positive inotropic effect).
Indications
Convafort is used traditionally, as an adjunct in the initial period of impaired heart efficiency, not requiring the use of other medications, without symptoms of circulatory stasis and in the weakening of the heart muscle in elderly people.
Contraindications
Do not use the medicinal product in people who are hypersensitive to the components of the drug. Contraindication to the use of Convafort is potassium or calcium deficiency and cardiac conduction disturbances, e.g. ventricular tachycardia, fibrillation of the heart, atrioventricular block.

Dawkowanie
