1. Labelling, composition and use:
Fluxan is used to treat and prevent gastroesophageal reflux, burning sensation, gastric hyperacidity and to protect the mucous membranes in the stomach and esophagus. Fluxan helps control gastric hyperacidity and prevents burning, stomach pain and related digestive complaints. Fluxan works regardless of the cause of the complaints; in addition, it can be used as an adjuvant for gastritis.
1.1. Mechanism of action:
Fluxan contains a combination of various synergistic substances that act in the gastric environment. Alginate is a special polysaccharide isolated from certain types of algae. After this dietary fibre reaches the acidic stomach environment, it very quickly causes the formation of a viscous and light gel that covers and protects the gastric mucosa. The special formula with sodium alginate, alginic acid and bicarbonate enables an accelerated effect. In addition, the viscous alginate gel makes it more difficult for stomach acid to rise, thus reducing the frequency of reflux episodes. The combination of carbonate and bicarbonate neutralizes stomach acid. In addition, the carbon dioxide bubbles that form during the reaction are captured by the alginate gel, transforming the gel into a foam that floats on the surface of the gastric juices.
