One of the possible ways to infect a person with a new coronavirus infection is through contact with the surface of objects containing a viable virus. If you do not follow the recommendations to prevent the spread of COVID-19, infection can occur through contact of contaminated hands with the mucous membranes of the nose, eyes and mouth. In turn, contamination of the surfaces of objects mainly occurs as a result of the release of viral particles by an infected person during breathing, sneezing and coughing.
The coronavirus remains viable on various surfaces for up to two days, so protection and hand washing, as well as wet cleaning with disinfection of surfaces, remain relevant.
Why wash your hands with soap for at least 20 seconds
Studies have shown that the virus remains viable on various surfaces (stainless steel, linoleum, glass, plastic, ceramic tiles) for more than 48 hours and this ability can serve as a source of infection.
At the same time, surface treatment with disinfectants allows you to clear them of viable viral particles.
We tested several dozen different disinfectants: with chlorine, alcohol, based on Quaternary ammonium compounds and tertiary amines. The results are encouraging: all these disinfectants kill the virus quickly and effectively.
Ethyl and isopropyl alcohols, even at a concentration of 30 percent, can destroy up to a million viral particles in 30 seconds. Chlorine-containing disinfectants have the same effectiveness: they completely disinfect the surface within a few tens of seconds. Disinfectants based on tertiary and Quaternary amines lead to the loss of viability of the coronavirus within a few minutes.

“The virus is not very persistent, it is sensitive to almost all disinfectants. You can use alcohol-containing, chlorine-containing solutions – wipe the surface of the object with them, let it dry – and you can safely use it. Acts on the virus is the hydrogen peroxide.
