Voltaren Emulgel 1% is a medicinal product in the form of a white gel, used for rubbing into the skin. The active substance – diclofenac – belongs to the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and has an analgesic, anti-inflammatory and anti-edema effect. Due to the base, the gel also has a cooling and soothing effect. Voltaren Emulgel 1% is used in muscle and joint pain and contusions – sprains and sprains.
Side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Common side effects (may affect up to 1 in 10,000 people):
skin rash, itching
redness or burning sensation of the skin.
Very rare side effects (may affect up to 1 in 10,000 people):
increased skin sensitivity to sunlight (symptoms of hypersensitivity are sunburn with itching, swelling and blisters).
Warnings and Precautions
Do not use the drug on damaged skin, open wounds, eczema. You should stop using this medicine if you develop a skin rash after using it.
Avoid using the drug on large areas of the skin and for longer than the approved period of use unless directed by a doctor.
Voltaren Emulgel 1% is intended for external use. It should not be used in the mouth. Avoid contact of the gel with the eyes.
After applying Voltaren Emulgel 1%, the treated area can be taken, but not air-tight bandages.
The drug contains propylene glycol and benzyl benzoate which may cause skin irritation in some people.
Storage:
Keep the drug out of the sight and reach of children.
Store below 30oC.

Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all the medicines you are taking at the moment, and about the medicines you plan to use.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
Pregnancy:
Voltaren Emulgel 1% must not be used in the last three months of pregnancy as it may be harmful to the unborn child or cause difficulties in childbirth.
During the first six months of pregnancy, the drug should only be used on the recommendation of a doctor.
Breast-feeding:
During breastfeeding, Voltaren Emulgel 1% should only be used on medical advice, as diclofenac passes into breast milk in small amounts. In this case, the drug should not be applied to the breasts of breastfeeding women, nor to large areas of the skin.
Use of the drug in children and adolescents
Voltaren Emulgel 1% should not be used in children and adolescents under 14 years of age.

Voltaren Emulgel 1% to produkt leczniczy w postaci białego żelu stosowany do wcierania w skórę. Substancja czynna – diklofenak- należy do niesteroidowych leków przeciwzapalnych (NLPZ) i wykazuje działanie przeciwbólowe, przeciwzapalne oraz przeciwobrzękowe. Ze względu na podłoże żel działa także chłodząco i kojąco. Voltaren Emulgel 1% stosuje się w bólu mięśniowym, stawowym i kontuzjach – skręceniach, zwichnięciach.
Działania niepożądane
Jak każdy lek, lek ten może powodować działania niepożądane, chociaż nie u każdego one wystąpią.
Często występujące działania niepożądane (u 1 do 10 na 10000 osób):
wysypka skórna, świąd,
zaczerwienienie lub pieczenie skóry.
Bardzo rzadko występujące działania niepożądane (u 1 na 10000 osób):
zwiększona wrażliwość skóry na światło słoneczne (objawami nadwrażliwości są oparzenia słoneczne ze świądem, obrzękiem i pęcherzami).
Ostrzeżenia i środki ostrożności
Nie należy stosować leku na uszkodzoną skórę, otwarte rany, wypryski. Należy zaprzestać stosowania leku, jeśli po jego użyciu pojawi się wysypka skórna.
Należy unikać stosowania leku na duże powierzchnie skóry oraz przez okres dłuższy niż zatwierdzony okres stosowania jeśli nie zostało to zalecone przez lekarza.
Voltaren Emulgel 1% jest przeznaczony do użytku zewnętrznego. Nie należy go stosować w jamie ustnej. Należy unikać kontaktu żelu z oczami.
Po zastosowaniu Voltaren Emulgel 1% można zabanażować leczone miejsce, ale nie mogą to być bandaże nieprzepuszczające powietrza.
Lek zawiera glikol propylenowy i benzoesan benzylu, które u niektórych osób mogą powodować podrażnienia skóry.
Przechowywanie:
Lek należy przechowywać w miejscu niewidocznym i niedostępnym dla dzieci.
Przechowywać w temperaturze poniżej 30oC.
Stosowanie innych leków
Należy powiedzieć lekarzowi lub farmaceucie o wszystkich lekach stosowanych przez pacjenta obecnie, a także o lekach, które pacjent planuje stosować.
Ciąża i karmienie piersią
Jeśli pacjentka jest w ciąży lub karmi piersią, przypuszcza, że może być w ciąży lub gdy planuje mieć dziecko, powinna poradzić się lekarza lub farmaceuty przed zastosowaniem tego leku.
Ciąża:
Leku Voltaren Emulgel 1% nie wolno stosować w czasie trzech ostatnich miesięcy ciąży, ponieważ może on wywierać szkodliwy wpływ na nienarodzone dziecko lub powodować trudności podczas porodu.
W okresie pierwszych sześciu miesięcy ciąży lek można stosować tylko na polecenie lekarza.
Karmienie piersią:
Podczas karmienia piersią Voltaren Emulgel 1% może być stosowany jedynie na zalecenie lekarza, ponieważ diklofenak przenika do mleka matki w niewielkich ilościach. W takim przypadku leku nie należy nakładać na piersi karmiących kobiet, ani też na duże powierzchnie skóry.
Stosowanie leku u dzieci i młodzieży
Voltaren Emulgel 1% nie należy stosować u dzieci i młodzieży poniżej 14 lat.
