Rutin is present in several medicinal plants, including eucalyptus, hawthorn, ginkgo biloba and St. John’s wort. It is part of the large family of bioflavonoids. These are natural compounds of plants and have a vitamin activity complementary to that of vitamin C. Bioflavonoids improve the action of vitamin C on the body by increasing its absorption and delaying its elimination.
