Read all of this leaflet carefully because it contains important information for you. This medicine is available without a prescription. In order to achieve the best possible treatment success, however, Reducto-special must be taken according to the instructions.

Children:
A reduced dosage is recommended for children (see ‘3. How to take Reducto special?’).

Taking other medicines:
Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, even if they are non-prescription medicines. Simultaneous treatment with preparations containing vitamin D or similar effects affects the effectiveness of orthophosphate therapy. The simultaneous use of antacids (medication to bind excess stomach acid) with Reducto-special can prevent the absorption of phosphate because aluminum, magnesium or calcium form insoluble compounds with phosphates that cannot be absorbed.

Pregnancy and breast feeding period:
Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine. Although no fruit-damaging effects have so far been known, Reducto-special should only be taken during pregnancy and lactation after careful risk-benefit assessment and under medical supervision.

Driving and using machines:
There are no special precautions required.

Important information about certain other components of Reducto-special:
One modified-release tablet contains 4.4 mmol (172.97 mg) potassium. If you suffer from impaired kidney function or need to follow a controlled potassium diet (low-potassium diet), you should take this into account. Each modified-release tablet contains 4.1 mmol (92.99 mg) sodium.
