Characteristics: Probacin contains spores of a specific probiotic strain of Bacillus clausii supplemented with arabinogalactan (a prebiotic that supports the growth and activity of probiotics in the intestine). Bacillus clausii spores are highly resistant to the acidic gastric environment and, after germination in the intestine, form a beneficial intestinal microflora. Bacillus clausii shows increased adhesion to intestinal cells. Studies have shown that Bacillus clausii stimulates the intestinal immune system (GALT), mediates a specific immune response, and is thought to provide protection against the development of allergic and autoimmune diseases. A reduction in the risk of allergic manifestations, such as allergic rhinitis, has been shown in clinical trials with Bacillus clausii. Bacillus clausii also reduces the frequency and duration of upper respiratory tract infections in both healthy individuals,
Bacillus clausii is significantly resistant to a wide range of antibiotics, namely a number of: penicillin tetracycline cephalosporin macrolide aminoglycoside lincosamide
It is also resistant to metronidazole, streptomycin, colistin, nalidixic acid, pipemidic acid and fusidic acid.
Due to its resistance to such a wide range of antibiotics, which is an exceptional property among probiotics, Bacillus clausii helps to restore the disturbed intestinal microflora during the use of antibiotics. Bacillus clausii can be used by children and adults.
