The glorious era of the advanced field of aerial work, commonly called powder mills, essentially ended with the Velvet Revolution. Across our economy, there have been completely different rules of management and planning, financing, pricing policies, and this sector has lost its economic substance. Anyone who is scented for flying, or who is interested in them, knows that flying like a powderman meant flying in conditions that are prohibited for any other air traffic. Altitude several meters above the surface, flight speed almost to a minimum, cargo-laden aircraft, flights requiring maximum concentration on the surrounding terrain, flight obstacles, wind force and direction, monitoring in how much and in what space and where the pilot drops his cargo of chemicals, a significant number takeoffs and landings in field conditions every day, etc. It is no wonder that accidents occurred in such conditions. The pilots did not have cell phones yet, the radio connection was imperfect, if at all. The crashed pilot fought in the wreckage for life without help, alone and for a long time. Many pilots have paid the highest tax for their passion to fly, they deserve honor and memory. But it also belongs to the large number of powder pilots who were more fortunate. The book is not only a reminder of the powderman, but also provides an overview of the development of the aviation industry, the development of aircraft used in our country and the issue of flying for agricultural and forestry purposes.

Slavna era rozvinuteho oboru leteckych praci, obecne nazyvana praskari, v podstate skoncila sametovou revoluci. V celem nasem hospodarstvi nastali uplne jina pravidla hospodareni a planovani, financovani, cenove politiky a toto odvetvi ztratilo ekonomickou podstatu. Kazdy, kdo privonel k letani, nebo kdo se o ne zajima vi, ze letat jako praskar znamenalo letat v podminkach, ktere jsou pro jakykoliv jiny letecky provoz zakazany. Vyska nekolik metru nad povrchem, rychlost letu takrka na minimalce, nakladem zatizene letadlo, let vyzadujici maximalni soustredeni na okolni teren, letove prekazky, silu a smer vetru, sledovani v jakem mnozstvi a v jakem prostoru a kam pilot shazuje svuj naklad chemikalii, znacny pocet startu a pristani v polnich podminkach kazdy den atd. Neni divu, ze v takovych podminkach dochazelo k havariim. Piloti pritom nemeli jeste mobilni telefony, radiove spojeni bylo nedokonale, pokud vubec bylo. Havarovany pilot bojoval ve vraku letadla o zivot bez pomoci, sam a dlouho. Mnoho pilotu zaplatilo za svoji vasen letat dan nejvyssi, patri jim cest a vzpominka. Ta ale patri i tomu velkemu poctu pilotu praskaru, kteri meli vetsi stesti. Kniha je nejen vzpominkou na praskare, ale uvadi i prehled o vyvoji toho odvetvi leteckych praci, o vyvoji u nas pouzivanych letounu a o problematice letani pro zemedelske a lesnicke ucely.
