scope of application
MEPIFORM is suitable for the treatment of fresh and older hypertrophic scars as well as keloids. The product can also be used as a preventive measure in the care of closed wounds to prevent the formation of hypertrophic scars and keloids. Hypertrophic scars are caused by excessive connective tissue formation. They are mostly red, itchy, raised and manifest on the edges of the wound. Keloids are harmless, bulge-like growths of the scar tissue due to an existing genetic predisposition (disposition). They are assigned to benign tumors. Both types of scars occur more frequently after injuries, burns and operations. While hypertrophic scars are limited to the wound area, keloids can extend to the adjacent areas of the skin as well.

Take the bandage out of the packaging and cut it to the desired size if necessary. Make sure that the blank covers at least an inch of the adjacent, healthy skin. The application area should be dry. If an ointment or cream is used, the dry areas of skin surrounding the sore must be large enough for the bandage to adhere. After removing the protective film, apply the bandage to your wound or scar. Do not stretch it when applying it over a joint. You should wear the scar dressing daily for 24 hours.

You should check and clean your scar every day. You can remove the bandage while showering, washing or bathing and then reapply it to your dry skin.

Duration of treatment
Depending on the nature of the scar tissue, it will take at least three to twelve months for your scar to improve and completely heal. An application period of two to six months is recommended for scar prophylaxis. A scar dressing can be worn for up to seven days before it needs to be replaced with a new one.

Hypertrophe Narben entstehen aufgrund einer überschießenden Bindegewebsbildung. Sie sind zumeist gerötet, juckend, erhaben und manifestieren sich an den Wundrändern. Keloide sind harmlose, wulstartige Wucherungen des Narbengewebes aufgrund einer bestehenden genetischen Prädisposition (Veranlagung). Sie werden den gutartigen Tumoren zugeordnet. Beide Narbenformen treten gehäuft nach Verletzungen, Verbrennungen und Operationen auf. Während hypertrophe Narben auf den Wundbereich beschränkt sind, können sich Keloide auch auf die angrenzenden Hautbereiche ausdehnen.
Art der Anwendung
Nehmen Sie den Verband aus der Verpackung und schneiden Sie diesen gegebenenfalls auf die gewünschte Größe zu. Achten Sie darauf, dass der Zuschnitt mindestens einen Zentimeter der angrenzenden, gesunden Haut bedeckt. Der Applikationsbereich sollte trocken sein. Bei Verwendung einer Salbe oder Creme müssen die wundumgebenden, trockenen Hautbereiche groß genug sein, damit der Verband haften kann. Bringen Sie den Verband nach Entfernen der Schutzfolie auf Ihre Wunde bzw. Narbe auf. Dehnen Sie diesen nicht bei Applikation über ein Gelenk. Sie sollten den Narbenverband täglich und für 24 Stunden tragen.
Patientenhinweise
Sie sollten Ihre Narbe jeden Tag kontrollieren und reinigen. Sie können den Verband hierzu während des Duschens, Waschens oder Badens abnehmen und diesen anschließend erneut auf Ihre trockene Haut applizieren.

Behandlungsdauer
In Abhängigkeit von der Beschaffenheit des Narbengewebes dauert es mindestens zwischen drei und zwölf Monaten, bis sich Ihre Narbe verbessert und vollständig abheilt. Zur Narbenprophylaxe wird eine Anwendungsdauer von zwei bis sechs Monaten empfohlen. Ein Narbenverband kann für bis zu sieben Tage getragen werden, bevor dieser durch einen neuen ausgetauscht werden muss.
