Lenirit Ungueale 5% Medicated Nail Polish, 2.5 ml

Treatment of mild cases of distal and lateral subungual onychomycosis caused by dermatophytes, yeasts and molds affecting a maximum of two nails.

Dosage
Posology Nail polish should be applied to the affected finger or toe once a week. Special populations Elderly There are no specific dosage recommendations for use in elderly patients. Pediatric population LENIRIT UNGUEALE is not recommended in children and adolescents under the age of 18 as no safety and efficacy data are available. Method of administration 1. Before applying NAIL LENIRIT for the first time, it is essential that the affected areas of the nail (and in particular the surfaces) are filed as accurately as possible using the nail file provided. The surface of the nail must then be cleaned and degreased using an alcohol pad. Before reapplying NAIL POLISH, file the affected nails again as required, after cleaning them with a special pad to remove any residual polish. Warning: Files used on infected nails should not be used on healthy nails. 2. Using one of the reusable spatulas provided, apply the polish to the entire surface of the affected nails. Allow the nail polish to dry for 3-5 minutes. After use, clean the spatula with the same swab used previously to clean the nails. Keep the bottle tightly closed. For each nail to be treated, immerse the spatula in the nail polish avoiding to dirty the neck of the bottle with the nail polish. The duration of treatment required essentially depends on the intensity of the infection and its location. Treatment usually lasts six months (fingernails) and nine to twelve months (toenails). Treatment monitoring at approximately three month intervals is recommended.

Trattamento di casi lievi di onicomicosi subungueale distale e laterale, causati da dermatofiti, lieviti e muffe, che interessano al massimo due unghie.

Posologia
Posologia Lo smalto per unghie deve essere applicato al dito interessato della mano o del piede una volta alla settimana. Popolazioni speciali Anziani Non ci sono raccomandazioni posologiche specifiche per l’uso nei pazienti anziani. Popolazione pediatrica LENIRIT UNGUEALE non e raccomandato nei bambini e adolescenti con meno di 18 anni non essendo disponibili dati di sicurezza ed efficacia. Modo di somministrazione 1. Prima che LENIRIT UNGUEALE venga applicato per la prima volta, e essenziale che le aree interessate dell’unghia (ed in particolare le superfici) siano limate il piu accuratamente possibile utilizzando la limetta per unghie in dotazione. La superficie dell’unghia deve essere poi detersa e sgrassata per mezzo di un tampone imbevuto d’alcol. Prima di riapplicare LENIRIT UNGUEALE limare nuovamente le unghie interessate come richiesto, dopo averle pulite con un apposito tampone per rimuovere dell’eventuale smalto residuo. Attenzione: Le limette usate su unghie infette non devono essere usate su unghie sane. 2. Con una delle spatole riutilizzabili in dotazione, applicare lo smalto sull’intera superficie delle unghie interessate. Far asciugare lo smalto per 3-5 minuti. Dopo l’utilizzo, pulire la spatola con lo stesso tampone usato in precedenza per detergere le unghie. Tenere il flacone ermeticamente chiuso. Per ogni unghia da trattare immergere la spatola nello smalto evitando di sporcare con lo smalto il collo del flacone. La durata di trattamento necessaria dipende essenzialmente dall’intensita dell’infezione e dalla sua localizzazione. In genere il trattamento dura sei mesi (unghie delle mani) e nove-dodici mesi (unghie dei piedi). Si raccomanda un controllo del trattamento a intervalli di circa tre mesi.
