“Isotonic”, as its name implies, is a concentrate of an isotonic drink with a specially selected composition, which is designed to replenish the body’s loss of water and electrolytes (salts of the main macronutrients that affect the performance of muscle cells), as well as to supply energy (carbohydrates) during intense and prolonged sports activities. Compared to hypotonic drinks, isotonic drinks provide a slower saturation of cells with water and macronutrients and are used for intense loads lasting from 1 to 3 hours, or medium-intensity loads of any duration.
