Areas of application: • To prevent calcium deficiency when there is an increased need (e.g. growth period, pregnancy, breastfeeding). • To support the treatment of osteoporosis. Do not use: The medicine must not be used in the following cases:• Hypersensitivity to one of the ingredients of the medicine• Hypercalcaemia, e.g. as a result of primary hyperparathyroidism, vitamin D overdose, paraneoplastic syndromes (bronchial carcinoma, breast carcinoma, hypernephroma, plasmacytoma), bone metastases, sarcoidosis, Boeck’s disease, immobilization osteoporosis.The medicine should only be used with continuous monitoring of calcium and phosphate concentrations in the blood and urine in the following cases:• Renal insufficiency• Absorptive or renal hypercalciuria• Nephrocalcinosis• Calcium kidney stones• Hypophosphataemia.In patients with a family history of calcium-containing kidney stones, absorptive hypercalciuria should be ruled out.Pregnancy and breast-feeding:There are no reports of harmful effects of calcium during pregnancy and breast-feeding in humans. Application: The recommended dose is 500-1000 mg of calcium daily, corresponding to 1 effervescent tablet 1-2 times a day.Type and duration of use:• The effervescent tablets are dissolved in a glass of water and drunk immediately after dissolving. Any clouding of the solution does not affect its effectiveness.• It can be taken with food or between meals.• Treatment of calcium deficiency and osteoporosis is a long-term plan. Its duration depends on the desired therapeutic goal.Notes:• The absorption and thus the effectiveness of tetracyclines, cefpodoxime axetil, ketoconazole, quinolones such as ciprofloxacin and norfloxacin, iron, fluoride and estramustine preparations is reduced by the simultaneous intake of calcium preparations.Therefore, an interval of at least 2 hours should be kept between taking calcium-containing medicines and taking such preparations. Shelf life: Store in a dry place, close tube tightly after use.
