MycoMedica Hericium (known as the lion’s mane, Hericium erinaceus ) is an edible stalk-spore medicinal fungus native to Asia, and is also abundant in North America. Hericium can rarely be found in our country.

About Hericia

The fungus got its name from the unique shape of the fruiting body, which is spherical and branched and can have a diameter of up to 30 cm. Hericium is said to have a delicate taste and consistency reminiscent of fish. It grows parasitically in tufts on damaged tree trunks or stumps. Hericium has its strong place in traditional Chinese medicine. According to her, Hericium can balance the imbalance of yin and yang in the whole organism.
The effect of Hericia on NFG (nerve growth factor) production is currently being investigated. Like other medicinal fungi, Hericium is rich in polysaccharides – beta glucans, minerals, trace elements, specific to it are diterpenoids – hericenones and erinacins. Other important components of Hericia are palmitic acid, sugar alcohol threitol and D-arabinitol or provitamin D2, etc.

When using medicinal mushrooms, we recommend increasing the intake of vitamin C. The absorption of the active substances of medicinal mushrooms will increase. For example, in the form of an extract of the Brazilian cherry Acerola.

Dosage:

• 1 – 3 capsules daily (children from 3 to 15 years 1 capsule daily)
