The drug is a drug used to stimulate ammonia detoxification by increasing urea synthesis in the liver. It also serves to detoxify ammonia in the tissue, i.e. outside the liver (extrahepatic).
The drug is used to treat concomitant and secondary illnesses due to impaired detoxification performance of the liver (e.g. in cirrhosis of the liver) with the symptoms of latent and manifest hepatic encephalopathy.
Das Arzneimittel ist ein Arzneimittel zur Stimulierung der Ammoniakentgiftung durch Steigerung der Harnstoffsynthese in der Leber. Weiterhin dient es der Ammoniakentgiftung im Gewebe, also außerhalb der Leber (extrahepatisch).
Das Arzneimittel wird angewendet zur Behandlung von Begleit- und Folgeerkrankungen auf Grund gestörter Entgiftungsleistung der Leber (z. B. bei Leberzirrhose) mit den Symptomen der latenten und manifesten hepatischen Enzephalopathie.
