Gastrobutin IBS contains butyric acid in the form of sodium butyrate, in a unique form of tablets with modified enteral release with a coating resistant to gastric juice. As a result, the active ingredient is gradually released only in the intestine and reaches the large intestine.

Butyric acid is a short-chain fatty acid formed in the large intestine by bacterial fermentation of dietary fiber. It is the most important source of energy – the main nutrient for colonocytes (colon epithelial cells).

Gastrobutin IBS enthält Buttersäure in Form von Natriumbutyrat, in einer einzigartigen Form von Tabletten mit modifizierter enteraler Freisetzung mit einem magensaftresistenten Überzug. Dadurch wird der Wirkstoff erst im Darm nach und nach freigesetzt und gelangt in den Dickdarm.
