What CONDROSULF is and what it is used for
The active substance in CONDROSULF is chondroitin sulphate, which is one of the main constituents of the cartilage intercellular mass and has a characteristic significant ability to bind water in the tissue. This ensures the mechanical and elastic properties of cartilage. In joint degenerative processes, the content of chondroitin sulfate in cartilage is reduced by the action of specific enzymes (lytic enzymes), which lead to cartilage degeneration. As a result of the reduced ability to bind water, there is a gradual degeneration of cartilage and deterioration of joint function. Chondroitin sulfate suppresses the activity of enzymes that damage cartilage, promotes metabolism in cartilage and improves the mechanical-elastic properties of cartilage. Administration of CONDROSULF restores the metabolic balance of the basic cellular components of cartilage (chondrocytes).
CONDROSULF is used to treat degenerative joint diseases, especially osteoarthritis of the knee (gonarthrosis) or hip (coxarthrosis) of the mild to moderate joint and osteoarthritis of the fingers.
Osteoarthritis is a disease that causes pain and functional limitations in the joints. A typical symptom of osteoarthritis of the knee is exertional pain, which arises when walking, and the so-called starting pain (morning and stiffness associated with pain after a long period of rest). At rest, the difficulties diminish. In osteoarthritis of the hip, the pain may radiate from the outside of the thigh to the knee or to the sacral region of the back. The patient has difficulty bending to tie his shoelaces, wear socks, etc. Walking is worsened, especially up the stairs, the patient is limping.

Lecivou latkou pripravku CONDROSULF je chondroitinsulfat, ktery je jednou z hlavnich soucasti mezibunecne hmoty chrupavky a ma charakteristickou vyznacnou schopnost vazat ve tkani vodu. Zabezpecuje tim mechanicke a elasticke vlastnosti chrupavky. Pri kloubnich degenerativnich procesech dochazi ke snizovani obsahu chondroitinsulfatu v chrupavce pusobenim specifickych enzymu (lytickych enzymu), ktere vedou k degeneraci chrupavky. Nasledkem snizene schopnosti vazat vodu dochazi pak k postupne degeneraci chrupavky a ke zhorseni funkce kloubu. Chondroitinsulfat potlacuje aktivitu enzymu, ktere poskozuji chrupavku, podporuje latkovou vymenu v chrupavce a zlepsuje mechanicko-elasticke vlastnosti chrupavky. Podavani pripravku CONDROSULF zajistuje obnoveni metabolicke rovnovahy zakladnich bunecnych slozek chrupavky (chondrocytu).
Pripravek CONDROSULF je urcen k lecbe degenerativnich onemocneni kloubu, zejmena osteoartrozy kolenniho (gonartrozy) nebo kycelniho (koxartrozy) kloubu mirneho az stredniho stupne a osteoartrozy kloubu prstu ruky.
Osteoartroza je onemocneni, ktere zpusobuje bolest a funkcni omezeni kloubu. Typickym priznakem osteoartrozy kolene je namahova bolest, ktera vznika pri chuzi, a tzv. startovaci bolest (ranni a po delsim klidu vznikajici ztuhlost spojena s bolestivosti). V klidu se obtize zmensuji. U osteoartrozy kycle muze bolest vyzarovat po zevni strane stehna ke kolenu nebo do krizove oblasti zad. Pacient ma obtize se ohnout, aby si zavazal tkanicky, oblekl ponozky apod. Zhorsuje se chuze, zvlaste po schodech, pacient kulha.
