The Balkan cone (Scutellaria baicalensis) is an ancient perennial medicinal herb (family of scutellaria) originating from Siberia, which is one of the basic herbs of traditional Chinese medicine. Root is used for medicinal purposes, it contains sterols, glycosides, flavonoids (baikalin, baikalein and wogonin), tannins, benzoic acid and many other substances.
