Mode of action

The Aspirin 500mg ensures quick and tolerable pain relief. The active ingredient acetylsalicylic acid (ASA), which is contained in all aspirin products, is responsible for this.

Acetylsalicylic acid is a non-opioid pain reliever as well as a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug and inhibits the formation of the so-called prostaglandins (the body’s own messenger substances). These messenger substances are involved in the transmission and perception of pain in the brain, they make the pain receptors in the body more sensitive. The acetylsalicylic acid lowers the production of prostaglandins, whereby the excitability of the pain receptors decreases and so the pain subsides.
