Winter is cold season. If the mucous membranes in the nose or bronchi are dry, for example due to heated air or poorly ventilated rooms, pathogens can settle in and the mucous membranes become inflamed. A cold often moves from top to bottom and is usually caused by viruses. If the bronchi are affected after the nose, throat and larynx, it is called bronchitis. This initially manifests itself as an unpleasant, dry, irritating cough.

This can be suppressed at night with cough suppressants. As bronchitis progresses, the bronchial mucous membranes produce more and more viscous mucus. To make it easier to loosen and cough up, the active ingredient acetylcysteine, e.g. NAC AL acute 600 mg, is well suited. In general, drinking a lot is beneficial for the cold to subside.
