By reducing the viscosity of the thick secretion, the mucus produced has a harder time adhering to the bronchial walls. By activating the cilia of the respiratory tract, the removal of mucus is also promoted. This makes coughing up easier and can have a positive effect on the course of the disease.

Due to its dosage form as a sustained-release hard capsule, AMBROXOL AL 75 retard has another advantage: the active ingredient is released evenly over a longer period of time. This means that only 1 capsule per day is sufficient.
