Bourbon vanilla is the name of vanilla, which was originally grown only on the former Bourbon Island (now Reunion) and now its cultivation is extended to other islands in the Indian Ocean – Madagascar and the Comoros. This vanilla naturally contains a higher percentage of vanillin, the main aromatic substance that gives vanilla its scent.
