The preparation is a selective serotonin (5-HT 1 ) receptor agonist and is used as a migraine therapy.
It is applied
for the acute treatment of the headache phases of migraine attacks with and without aura.

Contraindications
The medicine must not be taken
to prevent migraines;
if you are younger than 18 years or older than 65 years;
if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to naratriptan hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients;
if you have already had a heart attack or have symptoms or signs of decreased blood flow to the heart (ischemic heart disease);
if you suffer from spasms of the coronary arteries (Prinzmetal’s angina) or peripheral vascular diseases or have ever had these;
if you have or have had a stroke or temporary conditions of insufficient blood flow in the brain (ischemic attacks);
if you have high blood pressure or are being treated for high blood pressure;
if you have kidney or liver problems;
if you have circulatory problems in your legs (cramp-like pain in your legs when you walk), or your doctor has told you that you have peripheral circulatory problems;
if you have been diagnosed with any of the rare forms of migraine (hemiplegic, basilar or ophthalmic migraine);
if you are also taking medicines containing ergotamine, ergotamine derivatives (including methysergide), triptans (e.g. products containing sumatriptan or naratriptan) or 5HT 1 receptor agonists to treat migraines .
