The controversial book by the German historian Karlheinz Deschner, entitled “With God and the Fascists”, deals with the horrific acts that arose from the propaganda-secret union of the Church and former European rulers: Mussolini, Hitler, Franco and others. The results of the author’s research are overwhelming: he has shown that the Catholic Church in particular has not only provided devotional assistance to the fascist governments of Europe, but has also committed horrific crimes in their protection purely to its advantage. With its findings, the publication could significantly contribute to the discussion on church restitutions in the Czech Republic!
