The recommended dose is:
Infants and young children between 4 and 24 months:
For babies and toddlers (4 – 24 months) it makes sense to put 1/2 – 1 measuring spoon (1/2 – 1 gram) in the oral cavity before and after the meal. This allows the effect of nystatin in the oral cavity to be optimized. The gel should not be applied to the back of the mouth to avoid possible aspiration. In the case of infants and small children, too, the aim is to keep the gel in the mouth for as long as possible.
Children (> / = 2 years) and adults
Take the preparation 3 – 6 times a day, in severe cases every 2 hours, in each case 1g gel (1 measuring spoon).
Duration of application
During the treatment of the oral thrush, there is a significant improvement within a few days. However, treatment should be continued for at least 2 days after the symptoms have subsided.
The duration of treatment should not exceed 28 days.
If you take more than you should
Very little information is available on oral overdose of nystatin. Since the uptake from the gastrointestinal tract into the body after oral administration is negligible, even at high doses, side effects of nystatin on the organism are not to be expected, even in the event of an overdose. If necessary, the usual measures to remove drugs from the gastrointestinal tract should be taken.
If you forget to use it
Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.

Säuglinge und Kleinkinder zwischen 4 – 24 Monate:
Bei Säuglingen und Kleinkindern (4 – 24 Monate) ist es sinnvoll, jeweils vor und nach der Mahlzeit 1/2 – 1 Messlöffel (1/2 – 1 Gramm) in die Mundhöhle zu geben. Hierdurch kann die Wirkung von Nystatin im Mundraum optimiert werden. Das Gel sollte nicht hinten im Mund aufgetragen werden, um eine mögliche Aspiration zu vermeiden. Auch bei Säuglingen und Kleinkindern ist eine möglichst lange Verweildauer des Gels im Mundraum anzustreben.
Kinder (>/= 2 Jahre) und Erwachsene
Das Präparat 3 – 6 mal täglich, in schweren Fällen alle 2 Stunden, jeweils 1g Gel (1 Messlöffel) einnehmen.
Dauer der Anwendung
Während der Behandlung des Mundsoors tritt eine deutliche Besserung bereits innerhalb von wenigen Tagen ein. Die Behandlung sollte jedoch mindestens 2 Tage über das Abklingen der Beschwerden hinaus fortgesetzt werden.
Die Dauer der Behandlung sollte 28 Tage nicht überschreiten.
Wenn Sie eine größere Mengel eingenommen haben, als Sie sollten
Zur Überdosierung bei oraler Anwendung von Nystatin sind nur sehr wenige Informationen verfüg-bar. Da die Aufnahme aus dem Magen-Darm-Trakt in den Körper nach oraler Verabreichung, auch bei hohen Dosen, vernachlässigbar ist, sind Nebenwirkungen von Nystatin auf den Organismus auch bei Überdosierung nicht zu erwarten. Gegebenenfalls sind die üblichen Maßnahmen zur Entfernung von Medikamenten aus dem Magen-Darm-Trakt zu ergreifen.
Wenn Sie die Anwendung vergessen haben
Nehmen Sie nicht die doppelte Menge ein, wenn Sie die vorherige Einnahme vergessen haben.
Wenn Sie die Anwendung abbrechen
Sie könnten den Behandlungserfolg gefährden. Bitte sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker, bevor Sie die Behandlung abbrechen.
