1-MNA – is an endogenous substance of vitamin origin, physiologically present in the human body. 1-MNA belongs to the quaternary pyridinium salts and is the main metabolite of vitamin B3, also called niacin. 1-MNA is produced in our body as a result of the metabolism of vitamin B3 in the liver. This ingredient is found in a few foods present in the diet. The richest known source of 1-MNA are Wakame brown algae (Undaria pinnatifida) and green tea leaves (Camellia sinensis). The physiological ability to convert vitamin B3 lowers with age. Dietary supplementation with 1-MNA is especially recommended for the elderly.
White mulberry leaves – (Morus alba L.), thanks to their properties that slow down the breakdown of complex carbohydrates into simple sugars (glucose), may contribute to the maintenance of proper carbohydrate metabolism in the body.
