Maalox is a medicinal product for the symptomatic treatment of hyperacidity, heartburn and gastritis.
The active substances are: aluminum hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide.
1 tablet contains 400 mg of aluminum hydroxide, 400 mg of magnesium hydroxide.
Excipients: mannitol, sorbitol, sodium saccharin, mint flavor, magnesium stearate, sucrose containing 3% starch, sucrose.
1 tablet contains 150 mg of sucrose.
Dosage
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.
1-2 tablets should be sucked or chewed after a meal or during pain.
Action
Maalox has an antacid, astringent, and protects the gastric and duodenal mucosa. Maalox does not directly affect the secretion of gastric acid, it lowers the acid concentration in the esophagus.
Indications
Maalox is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of hyperacidity and discomfort in the upper gastrointestinal tract, such as:
gastritis,
retrograde discharge of stomach contents into the esophagus in the course of a hiatal hernia,
indigestion, heartburn due to acidity.
Maalox can be used as an aid in the treatment of:
duodenal ulcer,
gastric ulcer.
Contraindications
Do not take Maalox:
in case of hypersensitivity to active substances and other auxiliary substances in the drug,
if you have severe kidney failure.

Substancjami czynnymi są: wodorotlenek glinu, wodorotlenek magnezu.
1 tabletka zawiera 400 mg wodorotlenku glinu, 400 mg wodorotlenku magnezu.
Substancje pomocnicze: mannitol, sorbitol, sacharyna sodowa, aromat miętowy, magnezu stearynian, sacharoza zawierająca 3% skrobi, sacharoza.
1 tabletka zawiera 150 mg sacharozy.
Dawkowanie
Ten lek należy zawsze stosować dokładnie tak, jak opisano to w ulotce dla pacjenta lub według zaleceń lekarza lub farmaceuty.
1-2 tabletki należy ssać lub żuć po posiłku lub w czasie bólu.
Działanie
Maalox posiada działanie zobojętniające, ściągające, osłaniające błonę śluzową żołądka i dwunastnicy. Maalox nie wpływa bezpośrednio na wydzielanie kwasu solnego w żołądku, obniża stężenie kwasu w świetle przełyku.
Wskazania
Maalox jest wskazany w leczeniu objawowym nadkwaśności i dolegliwości ze strony górnego odcinka przewodu pokarmowego jak:
nieżyt żołądka,
zarzucanie wsteczne treści żołądka do przełyku w przebiegu przepukliny rozworu przełykowego przepony,
niestrawność, zgaga z powodu nadkwaśności.
Maalox może być stosowany pomocniczo w leczeniu:
choroby wrzodowej dwunastnicy,
choroby wrzodowej żołądka.
Przeciwwskazania
Kiedy nie stosować leku Maalox:
w przypadku nadwrażliwości na substancje czynne oraz inne substancje pomocnicze w leku,
jeśli u pacjenta występuje ciężka niewydolność nerek.
