The oil in the Lyprinol® capsules (PCSO-524®) contains over 92 fatty acids from the New Zealand green-lipped mussel (Perna canaliculus). The special fatty acid combination only occurs in this type of mussel and has been shown to have a nutritionally inhibiting effect on inflammation and thus joint pain. For this reason Lyprinol® is registered in Germany for nutritional use in inflammatory rheumatic joint problems.
Since Lyprinol® only contains the anti-inflammatory oil of the green lipped mussel, it is many times more effective against arthritis or inflammatory activated osteoarthritis than fish oils or other green lipped mussel products made from powder. More than 20 successful studies have been carried out for Lyprinol®.
