Wings in combat, Kridla v boji, A. I. Pokryskin

The name of Air Force Marshal Alexander Ivanovich Pokryshkin, the three-time Hero of the Soviet Union, is now a legend. He experienced a great patriotic war from the beginning to the end at the front – as a pilot, later commander and creator of air combat tactics of the fighter aircraft. He has fifty-nine victories of enemy aircraft. His combat journey began near the Romanian border in June 1941 and culminated in a victorious battle for Berlin. His subordinate units also took part in the final battles in the liberation of our country. The wings in battle are a recapitulation and testament to Pokryškin’s prolific life – the life of a fighter pilot who subjected everything to a single goal – to sweep a fascist intruder from the sky.
