Root belongs to a group of so-called asymmetric games, in which each player plays for a certain faction and thus has different sub-tasks for which he collects points than other players. However, the main task is the same for everyone, to fight and build domination over the clearings and the whole forest empire.

Root appartient à un groupe de jeux dits asymétriques, dans lesquels chaque joueur joue pour une certaine faction et a donc des sous-tâches différentes pour lesquelles il collecte des points que les autres joueurs. Cependant, la tâche principale est la même pour tout le monde, combattre et asseoir la domination sur les clairières et sur tout l’empire forestier.

Root patří do skupiny tzv. asymetrických her, ve kterých každý hráč hraje za určitou frakci a má tak jiné dílčí úkoly, za které sbírá body, než ostatní hráči. Hlavní úkol je však pro všechny stejný, bojovat a vybudovat si nadvládu nad mýtinami a celou lesní říší.
