Turmeric ( Curcuma longa ) is a species of the same family as ginger . The part used for its medicinal properties is the rhizome. It has been used traditionally in the East, but it is used more and more in the West in our culinary preparations, but also as a food supplement and as a natural remedy . Turmeric has multiple virtues:
