When the Nazi army invaded the Soviet Union in June 1941, the German general expected the war to proceed quickly. all this was indicated by the crushing progress of the Nazi armored wedges, the success of German troops on all sections of the front and, last but not least, the overwhelming superiority that German pilots had over their opponents in aircraft with red stars on their wings. However, the rapid destruction of the Soviet armies did not take place and the Soviets gradually began to take the initiative. On the ground and in the air, where Soviet pilots gradually began to compete with their German opponents. The air battles on the Eastern Front eventually became the most extensive aircraft ever in World War II. This book deals with their history.
