The image of the famous “jazz age”, that decade of the American generation that grew up during the First World War and lost all illusions, is a constant of Francis Scott Fitzgerald’s short stories and prose. The writer was a prominent speaker of this generation: he impressed with his innovative style and language full of special charm. It is no exaggeration to say that some of his works – such as The Great Gatsby, The Diamond as Great as the Ritz, The Tender of the Night – are among the key and classic works of 20th century literature. The writer wrote 160 short stories during his lifetime. They were mostly intended for magazine prints, but they represent Fitzgerald as a master of this limited genre. The committee of his short stories and short stories Crazy Sunday combines key works – such as The Diamond as Big as the Ritz, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button or Such a Nice Couple.
