BenGay analgesic ointment is a medicine that reduces pain in muscles, joints and the spine. The product is intended for adults and children over 12 years of age.
The active substances are methyl salicylate (Methylis salicylas) and menthol (Mentholum).
1 g of ointment contains 150 mg of methyl salicylate and 100 g of menthol
Excipients: stearic acid, glycerol monostearate, anhydrous lanolin, polysorbate 85, sorbitol tristearate, triethylamine, purified water.
Dosage
Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The drug is applied to the skin of the sore spot. Dosage of Bengay ointment in adults and children over 12 years of age is 3 to 4 times a day to apply the drug to the skin, gently massaging the affected area until completely absorbed.
Use of BenGay without a doctor’s recommendation should not exceed 7 days.

Indications
BenGay is used for pain and stiffness in muscles and joints caused by overstrain, injury or inflammation. An indication for the use of the drug is also pain in the lumbosacral spine.
Contraindications
Do not use BenGay ointment in patients who are hypersensitive to methyl salicylate, menthol or any of the excipients. Skin irritation and open wounds are contraindications to administering the drug.

Wskazania
BenGay stosuje się w bólu i sztywności mięśni oraz stawów spowodowanych przeciążeniem, urazem lub stanem zapalnym. Wskazaniem do zastosowania leku są również bóle odcinka lędźwiowo-krzyżowego kręgosłupa.
Przeciwwskazania
Nie stosować maści BenGay u pacjentów z nadwrażliwością na salicylan metylu, mentol lub którąkolwiek substancję pomocniczą. Przeciwwskazaniem do podania leku jest podrażnienie skóry i otwarte rany.
