The bacterial strain Bifidobacterium infantis 35624® contained in Alflorex® was identified and developed over 15 years of research (World Gastroenterology Organization Global Guidelines. Irritable Bowel Syndrome: a Global Perspective, 2015).
This particular strain has been extensively researched scientifically. Bifidobacterium infantis 35624® was recognized by the World Gastroenterology Organization (WGO) as the bacterial strain with the best clinical study status for its effectiveness in irritable bowel syndrome (World Gastroenterology Organization Global Guidelines. Irritable Bowel Syndrome: a Global Perspective, 2015). In addition, this bacterial strain is officially recommended in the German medical S3 guideline for the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome (Layer P et. Al .: S3 guideline for the definition, pathophysiology, diagnosis and treatment of irritable bowel syndrome. Z Gastroenterol. 2011; 49: 237-93 ; in revision).
