Acodin Duo is a medicine used for dry cough. It inhibits the cough reflex and accelerates the regeneration of the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract. The drug works symptomatically.
The action of Acodin Duo is due to two components: dextromethorphan and dexpanthenol.
Dextromethorphan inhibits the cough center located in the medulla. In the doses used, it does not inhibit the functioning of the bronchial ciliary apparatus (the structure responsible for the transport of secreted mucus).
Dexpanthenol, by participating in metabolic processes, has a positive effect on the regeneration of the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract.
Indications
Acodin Duo is used for the symptomatic treatment of non-productive (dry cough) cough of various origins.

Działanie Acodinu Duo wynika z dwóch składników: dekstrometorfanu i dekspantenolu.
Dekstrometorfan hamuje ośrodek kaszlu zlokalizowany w rdzeniu przedłużonym. W stosowanych dawkach nie wpływa hamująco na działanie aparatu rzęskowego oskrzeli (struktura odpowiedzialna za transport wydzielonego śluzu).
Dekspantenol poprzez udział w procesach przemiany materii wpływa pozytywnie na regenerację błon śluzowych dróg oddechowych.
Wskazania
Lek Acodin Duo stosuje się do objawowego leczenia kaszlu nieproduktywnego (kaszlu suchego) różnego pochodzenia.
