Young barley is one of the oldest green foods used to promote health.
Young barley protein contains 20 amino acids, incl. all the essentials that the body cannot create on its own. Of the vitamins, young barley is rich in beta-carotene (provitamin A), a complex of vit. B (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B8, B12), vit. C, E, K and choline (important for lecithin synthesis). Of the minerals, it is a rich source of potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron and phosphorus.
How to use:
Mix the contents of one teaspoon into soup, salad, fruit or vegetable juice, etc. Green smoothie: 1 apple, a pinch of fresh ginger, 1 teaspoon of powdered young wheat, lemon or lime juice to flavor, a handful of spinach. Mix and drink immediately.
Warning:
Regular consumption of young wheat is not suitable for pregnant and lactating women, because toxic substances are excreted, among other things, in body fluids, incl. breast milk!
